Ohio's Lowest Performing High Schools Dramatically Improve Graduation Rates
Students in struggling high schools across Ohio dramatically improved student performance measures and graduation rates following successful implementation of KnowledgeWorks Foundation’s Ohio High School Transformation Initiative (OHSTI) and Early College High Schools (ECHS) reform models, according to Ohio Department of Education data.

Dropouts in South Carolina subject of Summit December 2, 2008
Curbing South Carolina's at-risk students.
An issue to be addressed at the Dropout Summit is to identify at-risk students and ways to intervene before they quit school. By getting parents involved, providing early intervention and starting career counseling as early as elementary school, schools can help prevent students from dropping out.
Among the experts speaking will be Harold D. Brown, president and CEO of EdWorks in Ohio, who is working to transform struggling urban high schools in Ohio into smaller, more successful schools.
