Wendy Brannen

Position/Title: 
Technical Assistance Coach

Wendy Brannen is a Technical Assistance Coach with EDWorks working in New York with early college high schools. Immediately preceding her current assignment, Brannen worked in Detroit, MI, at EDWorks schools with focus on supporting systemic whole school reform using collaborative leadership and learning community models, incorporating equitable instructional and relational approaches to increase student achievement as measured by a variety of authentic assessments and standardized tests. Prior to that she contracted with KnowledgeWorks for six years on their OHSTI - Gates foundation urban school initiative.

Brannen is a National Trainer for School Reform Initiative having conducted Critical Friends Group, Facilitative Leadership, Equity Based Critical Friends Group trainings in Houston, Virginia Beach, NC New Schools Project, Ypsilanti, MI, OHSTI, Cleveland OH and Indianapolis, IN. For Atlas Communities, Wendy has facilitated several Looking At Student Work sessions in NYC high schools. Her work as a National CFEE (Coaching For Educational Equity) Facilitator, with work experience for Lewis and Clark College in Eugene, OR and Goshen College, Bloomington, IN. characterizes her real passion; facilitating equity focused sessions.

She has in the past served on multiple boards in NYC and Stamford, CT, all community focused; she currently serves on the School Reform Initiative and QED Board of Directors.
