HISTORY

EDWorks, a subsidiary of KnowledgeWorks, was founded to help answer the national call for high school innovation in the 21st Century.

Shortly before EDWorks' founding, KnowledgeWorks and its partners, including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, invested more than $100 million in high school innovation in Ohio, transforming or launching nearly two dozen urban schools in the process.

KnowledgeWorks created EDWorks in 2007 based largely from the lessons learned from that experience, and in a continuing effort to create innovation in high schools at scale.

Our designs have raised performance expectations for 50,000 students, while more than 3,000 teachers have sharpened their skills through our professional development models.

EDWorks has partnered with a number of notable organizations in developing innovative learning platforms for schools, including The Riley Institute at Furman University, Granville Studio of Visual Arts, Biological Science Curriculum Study (BSCS) , Open Sky Jazz and Jobs for the Future.
