Through New Start we work side-by-side with leadership teams and teachers at schools categorized as "persistently low-performing." New Start uses existing school and partner resources in new and more effective ways to chart pathways to achievement and success.

They have a deep understanding of the social, economic, scientific, political and historical contexts within which leadership and public service exist and how they impact lives and societies. Most importantly, graduates of this high school exhibit the leadership qualities and skills to advance the common good in a diverse and globally interdependent world.

A graduate of The Academy for Innovation is an out-of-the-box dreamer and doer with the enthusiasm, knowledge, skills and desire to create positive change in the world. A master of creative thinking and the design thinking process, our graduate understands the world through empathetic listening and observation. A prolific idea generator, the Innovation High graduate is a self-aware, self-confident individual, passionately engaged in their chosen domain. Our graduate translates ideas into elegant, well-designed innovations, communicating with verbal and visual sophistication through multiple media, including technology.

An Improv Academy for the Arts graduate will thoughtfully apply the skills of improvisation to unpredictable, real-world situations across all academic and non-academic disciplines. Improvisation skills will empower students with the ability to act, create and respond intellectually and intuitively to one’s immediate environment. This will result in the development of new thought patterns, new practices, new structures or symbols, and/or new ways to respond to our world. This model is most effective when the learner has a thorough understanding of essential concepts in each subject area.

The Health Sciences Academy graduate will be able to explore, examine, test, and implement new ideas to today’s questions in the health sciences. They will be able to critically examine and use data to make decisions concerning health-related issues. This model helps graduates communicate key ideas about the health sciences to both specialists and non-specialists in the field and be qualified to pursue a STEM job or college major with confidence.
